Our Visionaries

Founded in 1971 by two visionaries—Noah Lassman and Moshe Braun (Mobra). Lassman, a WWII partisan, studied economic geology in Poland and became Israel’s first economic geologist after immigrating in 1956. Braun, one of the “Tehran Children” Holocaust survivors, led the Mapping Department at the Geological Institute.

The company was founded to meet the growing need for reliable, professional geological consulting in Israel. Noah and Mobra saw that the field required expertise and advanced services, then unavailable. Their goal was to create a firm delivering innovative, efficient solutions to geological and engineering challenges. Geo-Prospect is Israel’s first geological consulting company.

Our Story

Since its founding in 1971, Geo-prospect has expanded into fields such as environmental quality, planning, and geology, and today employs approximately 50 professionals. The company leads projects for major industry players, including in construction raw materials, the chemical industry, minerals, and metals, as well as for government bodies.

With the arrival of Doron Braun, Moshe’s son, after completing his MSc, the company grew to become one of Israel’s largest geological consulting firms. The establishment of the Environment and Planning departments, following the addition of Sharon Cohen, further strengthened Geo-prospect’s position at the intersection of development and nature conservation.

As a pioneer in Israel’s geological consulting field, Geo-prospect has employed many young geologists over the years, helping shape and cultivate geological professionalism nationwide. Many of the country’s leading geologists—both in research and the private sector—spent part of their careers at the company, a testament to its lasting impact on advancing the field in Israel.
