The landscape architecture team heads the landscape planning and infrastructure projects, adhering to the highest standards. Planning projects includes the analysis of the landscape and the surrounding area, analysis of the visual impact and the project’s overall impact on the landscape, based on landscape restoration and development of the site.
The team deals with three main issues:
1. Rehabilitation programs of infrastructure projects, with expertise in mining and quarrying
2. Preparation of environmental documents for projects
3. Development planning
We believe in a practical approach which includes the necessary combination of the environment and landscape with engineering considerations. All this while acknowledging the competing requirements of the environment and the engineering landscape, and finding an optimal solution which satisfies both needs. Our methodology includes a comprehensive analytical study and a thorough understanding of the surface structure and the characteristics of the project’s environment in tandem with an understanding of the development activities. In this way utilization of natural resources, rehabilitation, and development are accomplished with sensitivity to the landscape, nature and the environment.
We specialize in the preparation of rehabilitation programs for mining and quarrying. The planning process includes planning the mining and quarrying activities, defining the stages of implementation, and testing of alternative plans. Landscape design is carried out in close cooperation with landscape designers and engineers in mining and quarrying. Rehabilitation programs are consistent with the capabilities and engineering resources, such as heavy equipment operating in the field, and the nature of the work site.
We operate with a broad overview of the project, in collaboration with professionals from various fields (hydrology, drainage, ecology, geology, etc.). National Parks, SPNI, and naturally the Ministry of Environment.
This department has acquired extensive experience in developing and presenting plans and coordinating with the “main players” in the field, including the planning institutions, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the Society for the Protection of Nature, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Rehabilitation programs are divided into two types:
Landscape and ecological restoration which aims to return areas to “open spaces”. Efforts are made to rehabilitate landscape so that it resembles the way it looked before the changes were carried out, and to ensure its re-integration into the existing landscape of the project surroundings. All of this is carried out while creating conditions for the return of ecosystem functioning.
Functional rehabilitation - purpose: providing the appropriate environment for human use (agriculture, industrial areas, parks) after completion of the mining and quarrying activities. In these cases as well, the emphasis is on rehabilitation of the landscape and ecological systems in and around the site.
Using computer models and three-dimensional imaging:
Autocad Civil 3D software is used to create dynamic models of three-dimensional surfaces. The models are used as tools to examine the volume of excavation and filling, and for the testing of the integration into the existing morphology. They allow visual displays by clear and precise cross sections, illustrations and analytical maps, while comparing the final state to the current situation and to the intermediate states.
Rehabilitation planning includes instructions and guidelines with respect to the rehabilitation process, to the operations prior to commencement of the work, and at the different work stages. Operational guidance in the field is provided, together with supervision and adjustments carried out as needed.

• Parshkovsky site - clay mining site rehabilitation and restoration of agricultural field, near the Nesher factory –Ramla; for Nesher Company.
• Rehabilitation programs, phosphate mining fields - Hagor West, Oron East, fields sites 3 and 6, and more; for Rotem Amfert.
• Rehabilitation project support, eastern area Vered Quarry of Wadi Ara; for Shapir.
Landscape Appendices- editing environmental and landscape chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments or of environmental-landscape documents. Based on experience with a variety of infrastructure and civil engineering construction projects, our analysis includes a description of the natural landscape features in the current condition, analyzing the visual effects of the plan on the surroundings, examination of alternatives with regard to landscape, and recommendations to minimize damage to the landscape
Visibility analysis is carried out by mapping the visual basins using Civil 3D AutoCAD software and RDV application (based on the DTM surveying files). Other tools used to analyze visibility are visual sections and three-dimensional simulations.

Landscape development plans
Detailed landscape design for urban areas and infrastructures. The work includes building permits and preparation of plans for bids and execution.Examples of development programs:• Development of an entrance to the Vered Quarry - Wadi Ara and development along the planned access road; for Shafir.
